1 Eastern species:  Romalea microptera (Beauvois)

 

Body length for males are 50-54 mm long and females 62-70mm. Body is robust in form and color may vary from black to yellowish-brown.  Tegmina and wings are not longer than two-thirds of the abdomen.  Specimens from Florida tend to be light brown in color, whereas specimens from other states tend to be black.
